A carved gold frame is split into two mirrored V‑shaped sections and mounted over a patchwork textile background. At the center, three vertically aligned eyes are stitched from varied fabrics. Each eye differs in size, shape, and material, using embroidery, netting, leather, and ribbon. Surrounding fabrics range from colorful floral patterns to muted browns and greys. The frame pieces extend beyond the canvas edges, breaking the rectangular boundary. Stitching, layering, and contrasting textures dominate the surface. The composition emphasizes repetition, fragmentation, and tactile detail through textile construction and disrupted framing.

Artist Statement

For "Beyond the Bounds Of Vision," I pieced together and sewed different types of fabrics to create several different styles and sizes of eyes that are hidden within the piece. I added the frame in an unusual spot to show that art doesn't have to fit into any bounds, because it is an expression of freedom.

This piece is significant to me personally, because I create all of my artwork with limited vision, proving that their is literally no limits in the world of art.
