Salary: $55,000–$65,000 annually, commensurate with experience
About Art Possible Ohio
Art Possible Ohio is the statewide service organization on the arts and disability. We work with
artists of all ages who have disabilities to make arts and cultural experiences more accessible
and inclusive. Together, we make art possible.
Position Summary
The Executive Director provides leadership for Art Possible Ohio's statewide programs,
organizational operations, finances, and partnerships. This position oversees the
implementation of all major programs while ensuring the organization's mission, strategic
priorities, and commitment to accessibility are reflected throughout its work.
The Executive Director supervises a small team, manages organizational finances and grants,
cultivates partnerships across Ohio, and serves as the primary administrator for Adaptation,
Integration, and the Arts (AIA), Art Possible Ohio's statewide in-school residency program.
This is a hybrid position. Many administrative responsibilities may be completed remotely, while
select meetings, programs, trainings, and statewide travel require in-person participation.
Staff Supervision
This position supervises:
- ReelAbilities Film Festival Director (Part-Time)
- Program Assistant (Part-Time)
- Teaching Artists and Site Coordinators (contracted)
- Primary Responsibilities
Provides leadership for Art Possible Ohio's statewide programs by:
- Overseeing Accessible Expressions Ohio, including exhibition planning, host
partnerships, accessibility accommodations, and public events. - Supporting the annual ReelAbilities Film Festival Columbus in partnership with the
Festival Director. - Directing Adaptation, Integration, and the Arts (AIA), including annual residency planning, school partnerships, artist recruitment, scheduling, compliance, and program
evaluation. - Coordinating professional development opportunities for teaching artists, educators,
artists with disabilities, and cultural organizations. - Ensuring all programs reflect best practices in accessibility and inclusion.
Provides organizational leadership:
- Build and maintain partnerships with schools, arts organizations, community partners,
and statewide stakeholders. - Supervise staff and contracted teaching artists.
- Support strategic planning and organizational growth.
- Represent Art Possible Ohio at meetings, conferences, and public events throughout
Ohio.
Finance & Administration
Oversee the organization's administrative and financial operations, including:
- Annual budgeting and financial management.
- QuickBooks bookkeeping and monthly reconciliations.
- Payroll administration.
- Preparation of financial records for annual tax filing and Form 990 preparation.
- Contractor payments and annual 1099 reporting.
- Grant budgeting, reporting, and compliance.
Development
- Research and write grant proposals.
- Manage grant reporting and documentation.
- Support fundraising initiatives and cultivate relationships with funding partners.
- Ensure compliance with grant requirements.
Communications & Marketing
Provide oversight for organizational communications by: - Reviewing newsletters and marketing materials.
- Supporting website updates and digital communications.
- Collaborating with staff to promote programs and events.
- Ensuring marketing materials reflect accessibility best practices and organizational
branding.
Additional Responsibilities
- Provide technical assistance for the Ohio Arts Council's Artists with Disabilities Access
Program (ADAP). - Participate in the Ohio Teaching Artist Roster and Destination Arts Integration initiatives.
- Perform other duties that support the mission and operations of Art Possible Ohio.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience leading nonprofit programs or arts education initiatives.
- Experience supervising staff or project teams.
- Experience managing grants and grant reporting.
- Familiarity with nonprofit budgeting and accounting (QuickBooks preferred).
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Experience building collaborative partnerships.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, Canva, WordPress, and email
marketing platforms. - Demonstrated commitment to accessibility, inclusion, and the mission of Art Possible
Ohio.
Required Qualifications
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to travel throughout Ohio.
- Ability to rent and operate a vehicle for program travel.
- Ability to work occasional evenings or weekends for events and conferences.
