Artist Statement
As an assemblage artist, I view myself as a storyteller. I use repurposed jewelry to make chains of beads and baubles attached to an antique base. Some examples of bases I use are a 1920s flour sifter, a viewmaster reel, old 8tracks or LPs, and an old tie tack. I look for bases that my chains can accentuate while keeping the integrity of the object. I also love to add a little "Where's Wlado" search-and-find quirk to each piece I create where the name of the piece is a hint to the quirk. I really see myself as a storyteller and assemblage gives me the opportunity to retell its tale.
