Mid‑rise grey buildings line both sides of a broad avenue that recedes diagonally into the distance. Narrow, dark rectangular islands divide the center of the street. On the left, tightly packed buildings fill the foreground, while rooftops diminish in scale toward the horizon. On the right, a dark rooftop blocks part of the view, its railing highlighted in white. Near the upper right, an enormous black dragon‑like figure rises on hind legs, its scaled body catching streaks of white light. Flames pour from its mouth, igniting the street below. White fire glows behind rooftops beneath a smoky grey sky. The painting is framed in flat black wood.

Artist Statement

This painting represents trauma, and using an artistic medium to expressing your pain. Mirroring how the artists of the first Godzilla film used their artistic freedom to express their pain by creating an allegory for nuclear weapons used on and around Japan.
